Frequently Asked Questions

Who created Jog ‘n Hog?

Jog ‘n Hog was created by two 40-something brothers who seek out crazy challenges that push them either physically, mentally or both. With the mud run bandwagon getting a bit too full, they decided to start something different and see if it would work. Thus was born Jog ‘n Hog.

Is Jog ‘n Hog a real race?

Jog ‘n Hog is not a race in the normal sense. Think of it more as a crazy challenge that you can brag about on Facebook. People don’t do a Jog ‘n Hog to break their personal record. That’s why we don’t use chip timing or post result times online. Running a Jog ‘n Hog is just for the pure fun of seeing whether you can do something a little bit crazy.

A Jog ‘n Hog sounds nuts…why do people do it?

We like to quote the famous British mountaineer George Mallory when people ask us this question. When someone inquired why Mallory wanted to climb Mount Everest he replied, “Because it’s there.” That’s pretty much why people do a Jog ‘n Hog…because it’s there…because they can…because in a relatively boring world where most people spend their days working in cubicles, why the hell not.

Is this a rain-or-shine event?

As your mom used to say, “You won’t melt!” So the answer is yes, our events are held rain or shine. In the event of severe weather conditions (heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds and extreme heat) Jog ‘n Hog will decide if any changes will be made to the race. The race start time can change, the race can be postponed or the event can be cancelled. No refunds will be given if the event is cancelled due to severe weather.
